Advanced "tailor-made" TS/SDI recorder
FlexRecorder is a cost-effective solution for recording transport streams and SDI signals. We select and integrate the appropriate hardware, conduct operational verification, and tailor the system to match your required number of channels, signal types, and recording duration. The system is delivered in a ready-to-use state, straight out of the box.
By incorporating only the essential features, FlexRecorder ensures stable operation over extended periods.
It supports all DekTec input interface cards as well as onboard NICs, enabling the demodulation and recording of DVB-ASI, IP, and RF signals. This makes it versatile for use at various points within the broadcast workflow.
With an intuitive and user-friendly scheduling interface for starting and stopping recordings, you’ll never miss capturing even one-time events.
Recorded single TS files or playlists can be re-output via IP, ASI, or RF, enabling you to assess conditions in an environment similar to that of the viewers.
Live events that are transmitted cannot be re-sent in the event of packet loss or other network failures.
The FlexViewer’s FEC correction and streaming functions allow re-transmission from files recorded on the transmission path. The system was adopted as a cost-balanced recording system by using the time when events are not taking place to transfer content to an inexpensive, high-capacity NAS.
In global sporting events such as the Olympic Games, a large amount of content is simultaneously broadcast live and in progress. In order to monitor all the content and at the same time reuse the content after the event, all the material was recorded on 200 TB of external storage connected to the DAS, not only for the games but also for the entire month, including warm-up scenes.
Capturing on-air signals from CATV or terrestrial stations typically requires large-scale setups like those used for compliant recording. However, there are cases where temporary recording or technical issue verification is needed without permanent installations. By using FlexRecorder and DekTec’s RF demodulation cards, you can build a cost-effective solution with minimal complexity. With just a small PC and sufficient storage capacity, recording becomes both affordable and straightforward to set up.
