ASI, TS over IP, SDI Multiviewer
FlexViewer is a high-quality IP multi viewer. It supports various input interfaces such as RF and SDI on a server implementing TS over IP and DekTec interfaces. Outputs are compatible with onboard VGA and graphics cards for HDMI, DVI, and DP. Additionally, it can output SDI and multi-view screens as TS over IP. By selecting a server that fits the user’s environment, FlexViewer provides an optimal solution tailored to specific applications and channel counts, delivering a cost-effective and highly visualized monitoring environment.
Content is transmitted across various platforms. FlexViewer supports a range of input formats including SDI, ASI, TS over IP, OFDM, QAM, and OTT. By integrating both common codecs and physical interfaces, FlexViewer enables stream monitoring for all formats without the need for additional converters.
FlexViewer features a distributed architecture, allowing a single powerful server to decode 30 to 40 h.264 HD TV services. Furthermore, by utilizing the distributed architecture to spread the decoding process across multiple servers, it can display a greater number of channels on multi-view screens. The number of channels that can be processed typically depends on the server specifications at the time of installation; to accommodate additional channels, a complete replacement of the system is required. With FlexViewer, additional servers can be added and cascaded to increase decoding capacity.
As the number of channels on the multiview screen increases, it becomes challenging to identify which channels are experiencing alarms. The Penalty Box feature allows for the dynamic display of services with errors in a specific location on the multi-view screen. To check the status, simply looking at the Penalty Box is sufficient.
FlexViewer supports the output of multiple multi-view screens from a single server. It can output via HDMI, DP, SDI, or TS over IP, providing not only display flexibility but also the ability to design a fully customized system.
In a master-slave cascade configuration, we monitor 35 channels of H.264 HD services per pair, totaling 500 channels across the entire system. The customer needed to upgrade their monitoring system after transitioning from an SDI-based system to IP streams. They required support for not only black screens and freezes but also PID errors and NULL signals, which led them to choose FlexViewer.
During global sports event broadcasts, multiple pieces of content are simultaneously transmitted and managed. To monitor all this content, FlexViewer outputs multi-view screens in 4K resolution, allowing each video to be displayed on a single screen without compromising video quality, even when the usual displays would be too small.
A broadcasting station in the Philippines utilizes FlexViewer to directly monitor services from terrestrial ISDB-T signals. The support for a terrestrial signal reception card (DekTec DTA-2131) by FlexViewer has been key to achieving this simple, cost-effective, and powerful system.
